This was one of our most recent projects! We were contacted by a mother looking for an addition to enhance her daughter’s Halloween costume. She had looked at other sellers’ offerings and wasn’t overly impressed by the quality so she approached us with her idea.
This is Mira’s Gok-Do, the weapon of one of the main characters from the movie, “K-Pop Demon Hunters.” After some research into the movie and looking for an accurate 3D model of the weapon, we chose a 3D model designed by MiniLizShop on Etsy, scaled to match her daughter’s height, and then production began. To accurately recreate the Gok-Do, Silk Gold PLA filament was chosen for its shine and Silk Multi-Color PLA filament was chosen for its glossy look and smooth color transitions. Once all parts were printed, the piece was ready for assembly. It features a 4mm steel rod through the center to provide strength and stability. Each seam is bonded with CA glue to ensure that it will be able to withstand all of the trick-or-treating fun.
After Halloween, they plan to mount it on the wall in her bedroom for safe keeping. Upon hearing this, we also printed them a few custom brackets to match the gold handle of Mira’s Gok-Do. We are so happy to be able to make a dream costume come true and look forward to seeing her full costume featuring this one-of-a-kind piece!
